About Us
The GCS was founded in 2000 in Eureka, IL. Most
of the original members were faculty and staff at
Eureka College. The group began slow, with a few
people getting together to enjoy cigars. As word
of the group spread, members came from all
around the area. While the membership has
grown over the past 8 years, one thing has not
changed, our focus. We still strive to provide a
comfortable environment for gentlemen to enjoy
their favorite cigar and libation.
Members of the GCS take turns hosting events.
When a person, or sometimes, a group of people,
host an event, they are responsible for finding a
location for the meeting, be it a bar/restaurant or
someone's house. Sometimes, they will provide
cigars for the guests, other times we do a cigar
trade, where you bring 3 cigars, and get 3 in
return. And some of our meetings are bring your
own cigars, we like to change things up every
month to keep things fresh.
